The flowers are produced in a dense white panicle 20–40 cm (8–16 in) long on a 2–3 m (6 ft 7 in–9 ft 10 in) tall stem.Showy, easy to grow, incredibly fast-growing ornamental grass. Produces loads of 2-3 ft. long white plumes by the third year. Plumes make excellent cut flowers, fresh or dried. Grows to 12 ft. or more tall. Winter hardy to zone 7. Sow pampas grass seed in cell packs or flats, press into soil but do not cover. Needs light to germinate. Kept at 65-75° F., germination is in 14-28 days.
